How does a UV nail lamp work?
UV lamps are used to cure gel so that it becomes hard and durable.
Unlike regular nail polish, which dries by evaporating into the air, gel requires UV light to cure properly.
When the polish is exposed to UV rays from the lamp, a chemical process is activated that causes the product to cure quickly – typically in 60 seconds.The result is a durable surface that can stay beautiful for several weeks without flaking or losing its shine.
Can you use a UV lamp for regular nail polish?
No, a UV lamp does not work on regular nail polish.The lamps are specifically designed to cure gel nail polish, which requires UV light to harden and become durable. Regular nail polish, on the other hand, dries by evaporation in the air and is therefore not affected by UV light – neither in terms of drying time nor durability.
Which nail lamp is best?
It all depends on your gel products. It is essential that your UV lamp and gel products are compatible. Therefore, you should choose a nail lamp and gel products from the same brand.
The reason is that UV-curing products, including ours, require specific conditions in terms of UV light, which varies in both wattage and wavelengths (nm). Using a UV lamp that does not meet these specifications can result in insufficient curing. This can not only reduce the durability of the product, but also increase the risk of allergic reactions. To ensure optimal performance and safety, we therefore recommend only using our own UV lamps. These have been carefully developed to be compatible with our products, guaranteeing optimal performance and safety.
