21FREE+Easy Soak OffFree from Hema & TPO
The clean start so many of you have missed. Dry Primer is based on our original Prep&Prime formula and is the last step of your prep before the base coat goes on.
The thin, clear liquid cleans the nail plate, removes oil and moisture and briefly dehydrates the nail. It then dries completely without leaving a sticky layer. What remains is a clean, dry, matte surface for your base coat to adhere to.
The nerdy explanation:
A gel adheres best to a surface that is completely clean, dry and free of oil. Dry Primer is made of three fast-evaporating liquids: Ethyl Acetate, Isobutyl Acetate and Isopropyl Alcohol. They dissolve the oil on the nail plate and take the last of the moisture with them as they evaporate. There is no polymer in the formula, so no layer is left behind on the nail. That is the difference from Sticky Primer, which leaves a thin, tacky film for the gel to grip.

How to do a perfect prep – step by step
Prep is preparing your natural nail – it is always the first step, whether you are applying Gel Polish, strengthening or extending. A good prep is the foundation that makes everything last.
- File length and shape – with a 220/240-grit file.
- Remove cuticles – push back, and trim excess cuticle if needed.
- Roughen the surface – buff lightly with a 100-grit buffer, well into the sides. Do not file off the nail layers.
- Clean and prime – clean with cleaner on a lint-free wipe until the nail is matt and dry. Then apply a thin layer of primer and let it dry for a few seconds. Do not touch the nail afterwards.This product is used in step 4
- Continue with your product – base coat, Gel Polish or reinforcement.
