How to use a tip cutter – step by step

A tip cutter is used with loose tips – artificial tips you glue on and build up with e.g. PolyGel or Builder Gel to extend your nails.

1. Prep and glue the tip on – prep the nail as usual, and glue the loose tip to the front part of the nail with Tip Glue (air-drying glue).
2. Cut to length – trim the tip to your desired length with the tip cutter. It gives a clean, straight cut without splitting the tip.
3. Build up – cover the nail and tip with e.g. PolyGel or Builder Gel, and cure in the lamp.
4. Finish – file the shape, add colour and top coat if you like, and finish with cuticle oil.
