Mandrel bits from The Gel Collection are made of the highest quality and designed to effectively hold a sanding band. The mandrel bit is an essential addition to our Drill Expert Electric Nail File. Its small notches at the bottom of the head grip the sanding band and ensure an easy filing process, where the sanding band is secured and held in place throughout the entire process.

Sanding bands, also known as sanding discs, are small cylindrical sandpaper rolls that are mounted on a mandrel bit in your electric nail file. They are indispensable when doing your own nails at home and are primarily used to file, shape or remove gel products. Sanding bands come in different grits, which indicate how fine or coarse the filing will be. Thanks to the ultra-high grain quality of these sanding bands, they can be reused several times. They are also easy and quick to change.

How to use the kit – step by step

The kit is everything you need for the filing part: the Mandrel Bit is the holder, and the sanding bands do the actual filing.

1. Mount the bit – attach the mandrel bit to your electric nail file (e.g. Drill Expert).
2. Press a sanding band on – the small notches in the head grip the band and hold it firmly throughout.
3. File – shape, refine or remove gel product at low speed with light pressure, keeping the file moving.
4. Reuse and replace – bands can be reused several times; replace when the surface is worn.
